Woodruff Keyseat Cutter Specifications
The table below lists five representative models from the metric HSS Woodruff keyseat cutter series. Woodruff key cutters mill keyseats in shafts for mechanical connections. The curved portion of a Woodruff key fits into the shaft keyseat, while the exposed portion engages a mating keyway in a gear, pulley, or other hub component.
The required keyseat geometry determines the cutter selection. Check the actual cutter diameter and cutting width against the shaft or keyseat drawing. Neck diameter affects clearance around the cutting head, while the shank diameter must suit the toolholder.
