Woodruff Keyseat Cutter Specifications
The table below lists five representative models from the metric HSS Woodruff keyseat cutter series. Each model has a specific combination of cutter diameter, largeur de coupe, diamètre de la tige, diamètre du col, longueur totale, and tooth count. Each model follows its own dimensional configuration, so do not mix dimensions from different models.

Applications & Size Selection
Woodruff key cutters mill keyseats in shafts for mechanical connections. The curved portion of a Woodruff key fits into the shaft keyseat, while the exposed portion engages a mating keyway in a gear, pulley, or other hub component.
The required keyseat geometry determines the cutter selection. Check the actual cutter diameter and cutting width against the shaft or keyseat drawing. Neck diameter affects clearance around the cutting head, while the shank diameter must suit the toolholder.

For Woodruff cutters with dimensions outside the listed reference series, customers can submit an existing cutter model, dimensioned tool drawing, or shaft/keyseat drawing.
For non-standard cutter configurations, we review the specified dimensions, géométrie, and application requirements with our production team before confirming manufacturing feasibility and quotation.

Can I request Woodruff cutters in inch sizes?
The reference HSS series uses metric dimensions. You can submit an inch-based drawing or specification for review. We will review manufacturing feasibility for inch-size requests separately.
What if I only know the Woodruff key size?
You can provide the Woodruff key designation or the required shaft keyseat dimensions. We may need additional cutter dimensions to confirm the correct tool before quotation.
