A carbide tapered cutter has a cutting diameter that gradually increases from the tip toward the shank. It is used to machine draft angles, paredes laterales cónicas, ranuras estrechas, cavidades profundas del molde, and detailed CNC profiles.

Compared with a straight end mill, the tapered cutting section provides better access to angled surfaces and narrow areas. The larger section near the shank can also improve tool rigidity during deep-cavity and long-reach machining.

How to Choose a Tapered Cutter

1. Confirm the Taper Angle

Match the cutter angle to the part drawing, draft angle, tapered wall, or mold profile.

2. Select the Tip Diameter

3. Choose the End Geometry
